A pilot project for process control in paper production was carried out. The control is executed with the use of Basler 640×480 resolution camera.
The camera was placed in an artificially cooled housing since the temperatures in paper production can reach up to 80 °C. In addition to the industrial camera, the Compact Vision System (CVS) processing unit was used. Although its robust design permits it to be used in high temperature environment, the CVS was additionally cooled as well.
The CVS enables recording of different errors in the operation of cylinders, which are used for paper production, and a revision of the errors on video recordings. The Vipap system proves the usefulness of Wise Technologies systems in extremely difficult production environments.
