WiseScan system is used to control TiZn sheet metal made in the procces of tractional rolling and it is used in building construction for roofs and wall panels.
Complete solution is made up out of a table with electrical cabinet and two imaging modules on the production line which cover all untangling sheet metal between the modules. Each modul contains two line scan cameras, a total of 4 cameras which can take images of sheet metal with adequate resolution from top and bottom side. Every imaging module also has special illumination positioned and configured in such a way that errors on the sheet metal are destinguishable with enough contrast to good areas on sheet metal. One of the modules contains an encoder which can trigger all 4 cameras proportionally to speed and length of rolled out sheet metal, which is unwinding between the modules.
The system enables two modes of operation: winding sheet metal for quality control and cutting of plates. Application WiseScan can communicate with primary line system. In cutting mode cutter are signalled acceptance of quality for individual plates, which is deemed adequate or thrown out. One more encoder is located in shears which is meant for the control of possible waves of pilled sheet metal on the line.
We have utilised the most powerful hardware available on the market: multicore CPU, high resolution cameras with optics of chosen for this format.
System characteristics:
Width of conveyor controlled up to 1100 mm
Control of line with speeds up to 100 m/min
Detection of error sized ≥ 1mm, user configured regarding to the surface, size in x or y axis, detection of mass of tiny errors in confined area
Real time assessment of error model for their separation from the inherent dynamical textural properties, non-homogencity
Detection of errors encorporates: open scales, closed scales, mechanical damage, burnt oil, stabs and bad edge cut off
The upgrade of production line with WiseScan modul exceedingly reduced the costs of production, increased the reliabity of control, substituded the work of six workers in two shifts and last but not least – it raised the prestige of final product which boasts of high quality.
