Challenge: Calibrate different types of spirit levels in the corresponding class of 0.25 or 0.5 mm/m accuracy. Types vary in size and input type of a vial. In the process of calibrating the position of a vial in the spirit level body, provide an objective measure of spirit level calibration and replace the subjective human evaluation.
Solution: The basis of the optical measuring system is the measuring optics, camera of an appropriate resolution and opto-mechanic leveling of the components in order to achieve the necessary measurement accuracy. The measured object is manually laid onto a leveled horizontal and vertical reference basis in the visual field of an optical system. The system objectively measures current calibration error. The calibrator uses a special tool to correct the position of the input in order to achieve optimum calibration.
The solution eliminates subjective human evaluation of product calibration as well as reclamation costs resulting from it. The calibration data can be recorded to ensure traceability of the process.
